Founded in 2021, Green Carbon Energy Corp. (or GCE) is a biotechnology startup in the climatech space focused on recycling of CO₂ captured from emissions to address global climate change.

In the last 200 years, starting about the time when the Industrial Revolution began, human impact on the carbon cycle has increased dramatically. The increased need for energy intensified the emission of CO₂ that accumulated in the atmosphere and oceans. Today the concentration of CO₂ stands at 423 parts per million by volume (ppmv), an increase of more than 60% as compared to the pre-industrial concentration. The atmospheric accumulation of CO₂ is one of the key drivers of global climate change. Restoring the balanced carbon cycle in the Industrial Age is the greatest challenge facing humanity today.

Our unique and proprietary technology converts CO₂ into organic compounds for use as fuel and chemical feedstocks. Effective recycling of CO₂ can replace fossil-fuel based energy and manufacturing, providing a viable and sustainable solution to reduce atmospheric CO₂ and thereby limiting global climate impact.
